Every payment, at every rate, in one grid.
Pick a loan amount and see the monthly payment for ten APRs and seven terms at once. Switch the view to total interest or total repaid to see what each combination really costs.
- 70 combinations at a glance. APRs from 6% to 36%, terms from 1 to 7 years.
- Three views. Monthly payment, total interest or total repaid.
- Color-coded cost. Darker cells put more of each payment toward interest.

Build your payment grid
Darker cells mean a larger share of your payments goes to interest.

How to read the grid
Moving right along a row stretches the same loan over more months. The payment drops, but the cells get darker because interest takes a bigger share.
Moving down a column raises the APR. On short terms the payment changes only a little; on long terms, a higher APR adds up fast.
For $15,000 over 60 months, going from 10% to 20% APR raises the payment from $318.71 to $397.41, about $79 more each month and roughly $4,720 more over the loan.
Use the grid to set a target
- Find the highest payment you can afford comfortably
- Find the shortest term at that payment
- Note the APR you need to get there
- Compare real offers against that target
What decides the APR you are offered
The grid shows the math. Your actual APR depends on how a lender sizes up your risk.
Credit history
Scores, payment history and utilization carry the most weight for most lenders.
Income and debts
Stable income and a lower debt-to-income ratio can mean a lower rate.
Loan details
Amount, term, collateral and autopay discounts all move the rate.
